June 27, 2004, a group of God-anointed, spirit-filled believers came together, and under God's guidance and anointing, organized God's House Baptist Ministry.
From day one God provided us with everything that we need - Under Shepherd, Associate Ministers, Church Officers and leaders, Church in Study Superintendent and teachers, pianists, organist, drummers, choirs and directors, ushers, Outreach Ministries (including television ministry, this WEBSITE, audio visual persons, and sound technician), desk top publisher, a sanctuary to worship in, and lots more. God certainly proved to us that He is true to His Word. "But my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Phillipians 4:19)
We experienced our first Worship Service on June 27, 2004, and subsequent worship services up until March 5, 2006, at the Melrose Seventh Day Adventist Church,1601 Melrose Avenue, Roanoke, Virginia, which was under the leadership of Rev. Jonathan T. Runnels. We will always be much appreciative to Rev. Runnels and his congregation. We were introduced to this great man of God by Rev. Dwight Steele, Pastor of the Pilgrim Baptist Church, Roanoke, Virginia, whom we will always be grateful.
Our Morning Worship opened with a congregational hymn, morning scripture, morning prayer, church litany, and out Tithers Confession. Our choir was made up of various members of our congregation. Pastor Davis invited our Youth Mass Choir and Sounds of Joy to rendition a few special selections. Rev. Isaac Scott blessed us with his special rendition of "It Is Well". God sent down His anointing on our first Worship Service in an awesome way. There was a total of 120 Disciples, along with a reporter and photographer from Roanoke Time World News present at this great Worship experience.
Pastor Davis preached from the very bottom of his heart.
First Bible Study/Prayer Meeting was held July 2004, at the Melrose Seventh Day Adventist Church at 6:00 P.M. The custodian forgot to open the church for us, so, Pastor Davis led us in prayer and began Bible Study with a group of dedicated - God's House - Word Hungry - Disciples and friends sitting on and about the 16th Street steps. Shortly, thereafter, the custodian came and opened up the doors and we resumed our study inside the sanctuary. Our first Bible Study came from the book of I Kings. Immediately following Bible Study we entered into our Prayer Service.
Church In Study held its first business meeting in August, 2004, at the home of Deacon James H. Linthicum, Jr., Church In Study Superintendent. Thereafter, meetings were attended at the said location once a month until we moved into our cooperate office on Peters Creek Road, and now we greet you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ at 9:00 A.M., each Lord's Day morning at our new Worship Center.
"God invites everyone that hath breath to praise the Lord." God has blessed us with seven wonderful spirit-filled groups, including our Youth Hand Bell Choir and our recently organized Praise Team.

Pastor Davis, assisted by Deacon Johnny Chapman, baptized our first three disciples during morning worship September 5, 2004.
October 2004, our Church In Study launched its first 'Discipleship Training Classes' for both - adults and youth. The scriptures instruct us to 'make disciples and teach them', and adhering to these Biblical instructions, the Discipleship Training Classes were developed and implemented by Rev. Dr. Floyd W. Davis, Pastor, Rev. Pamela P. Crump, Minister of Christian Education, and Deacon James H. Linthicum, Jr., Church In Study Superintendent.
Each 5th Sunday during our Church In study hour, the congregation came together (both young and young-at-heart and studied the Baptist Doctrine and the Articles of Faith.
- Our Discipleship classes are presently being held each Wednesday evening at 5:30 P.M. Come out and be a part of this great learning experience.
